The Belier Family Film - 18 Oct

If you want a good laugh and a good cry, this is the film to see. This is a family-friendly, fun film that has a deaf family at the heart of it. There are some excellent moments of deaf culture and it’s so nice to see a range of deaf characters who are central to a film. The film centres on the CODA daughter of the family, a teenager discovering her talents and coming to terms with her role in the family and leaving home. This film was very popular in France nominated for 7 of their academy awards. It’s in French sign language and spoken French with English subtitles. It’s full of positivity and what a great way to celebrate National Week of Deaf People.
