The Last Promise

This film is about a poor, orphan girl who was raised by her grandma. Even though they are poor, their love for each other is endless. One day, coming back from school, Rania craves for fried chicken and grandma cannot afford it although initially she promised her beloved granddaughter to get her the fried chicken she wants. Being young and naïve, Rania acts rude towards her grandma. After grandma apologises to Rania for not fulfiling her wishes, Rania immediately realises her mistake and regretted her action towards her grandma. The next day, the principal informs her grandma that she is entitled to study overseas with her good grades. Knowing that Rania needs money for her expenses abroad, she works hard and starts to save money putting aside her own needs. Rania, a changed girl, does not expect her grandma to give her anything, is shocked by her grandma’s gesture. Unfortunately, while Rania is still studying abroad, her grandma passed away. She didn’t get the chance to see Rania fulfilled her promise.to her beloved grandma. This video was produced for a short video making competition organised by AITI and Curriculum department, Ministry of Education Brunei to participate in the South East Asian Video Festival for Children-SEAVFC 2019. 'The Last Promise' won 2nd place in the under 15 years old category.
