The Last Remnant True Conqueror Rank 8 + Ending

Gameplay footage of The Last Remnant's final boss fight with cutscenes. The True Conqueror is unlocked as a boss fight when you complete all sidequests in the game. This means you have to have defeated some incredibly hard bosses, most important of which being The Fallen. Getting to this point is not easy; the fight itself is no cakewalk either. Roeas and Castanea are like usual: easy peasy. They did like to use some strong attacks in this run, but they're not at all dangerous at this point. The Conqueror himself is a beast. It didn't help that I killed Roeas at the worst possible point, leaving my group wide open for a massive attack. It also didn't help that The Conqueror was really spam-happy with his Deep Impact, which is one of his most devastating attacks. It took me quite a while to recover and lay down the pain... Right on time for him to use Savage. The subsequent beatdown was just nasty. This was my second kill, with the first one being way, way better. It used the exact same setup, but I had way more luck. More details about this fight: The Conqueror is absolutely ridiculous. Roeas and Castanea don't change much, regardless of your Battle Rank, but The Conqueror is always incredibly powerful. He'll always enter the battle immediately after you've killed the last of his two lackeys, then engages a group, smacks them, and uses a massively powerful arte that hits everyone. Which one he casts depends on your Battle Rank and his own rank. Every few turns, he'll use another one of these skills, Animalcule being the worst, since it throws almost every status effect in the game on your whole army, in addition to doing quite a bit of damage. On top of this, all of his normal attacks (except Deep Impact) have a chance of instakill. Aside from that, he's not all that threatening, just keep him busy and heal people. When he hits 50%, he'll use Savage. This gives him a different moveset, one where he discards Deep Impact (yay) and gains stuff like Obliterate (not yay, as he just trades lots of damage for a very high instakill chance). He also has a higher chance of instakill, if I recall correctly. Even though he throws away his sword, this form is way, way nastier than the one before. If your battle rank and his rank are high enough, he'll use War God, which is his most damaging attack. Overall, he becomes way more dangerous and way more kill-happy. Not too long after that, he'll use Overdrive. I forget the percentage, but I think he has to be on 30%. Nothing too bad, just keep the troops away or he's guaranteed to kill them, unless you're using a special arte. At 20%, he'll use Photon Field. This is a broken-ass arte only available to him that will make all attacks on him miss, except if they trigger a critical offense and it succeeds. Luckily, it only lasts a few turns. Doesn't prevent him from destroying your groups, though. Lastly, at 5%... the music changes, telling you that he's almost dead, which is the most satisfying part of this whole battle.
