Some assume the merits of risk to be self-evident (no A's without F's). Yet, this isn't a commonly shared value among students, parents, or even peer educators; they often don't understand risk and rarely advocate for it, seeking only "safe" opportunities. All students must embrace risk if they want to reach their potential and be prepared for the future that awaits. Presented by Christopher Barnes, Founder of the High Mountain Institute. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
