Here are 5 brand new trucks from the city's current 84-truck order of CNG 2016/17 Peterbilt 320/Amrep AMHASLTPO-19s that are replacing the 2001 diesels and 2003/2004 dual-fuel trucks. 25 of them have the N3 arm while the rest have the older, second-generation arm. This is the first time in years an order of new trucks has been spread between all 6 yards, mostly thanks to the West LA Yard's new CNG fueling system. I still have yet to see one come by my house but the day will come. In the end I'm pretty satisfied with them so far; they're actually faster than much of the older trucks (especially the 2007s-2013s). The driver of 296 in particular was excited to get a new ride and likes it, and the driver of 282 (an industry veteran) was a bit skeptical of the newer technology and the whole idea of CNG, and as this was his very first time driving anything newer than his 2006 diesel Peterbilt but he seemed to be satisfied. Thanks to the friendly drivers of the West LA, North Central, and East Valley yards, as well as the guys at the West LA yard for directing me to truck 282 on that particular afternoon. And credit goes to Kanyisa and Kanyile Ahegbebu for the route of truck 300.
