A new theory of the evolution of Homo sapiens which proposes: • As the origin of the genus homo a permanent warm coastal fog that existed at the European paleo coast during late Pleistocene (from 2.6 Mya to 11,000 BCE), and most probably at the periphery of the Irish Sea Glacier. The theory uses the fact that throughout the ice ages the year's average sea ice cover in the North Atlantic was somewhere between 60°N and 50°N. Which means that all this extra Sea Ice would have increased the salinity and reduced the temperature (due to the much higher albedo for sea ice) of a far more extensive body of water in the North Atlantic. Is postulated that this would have increased the speed and volume of the sinking of surface (denser) waters in the North Atlantic, and send more Equatorial waters to travel north. In turn, due to the more substantial differences in density between the waters inside the two North Atlantic Equatorial water flows (the Gulf Stream and the North Atlantic Drift (NAD)) and the surrounding waters, both would have had reduced widths and depths. They also would have travelled faster, at a narrower angle to transport increased (and more concentrated) amounts of thermal energy which (in tandem with the Earth’s rotation), straightforwardly would have run eventually parallel to the European paleo coast. According to the theory, the more compact Pleistocene NAD would have delivered waters heated at close to 25 °C to a much reduced in length European paleo coast. The pressed against-most likely-the Irish paleo coast hotter Pleistocene NAD, due to the massive difference in temperatures between its surface waters and any coastal ice, would have created the mentioned permanent warm coastal fog. • The environmentally adjusted voluble, prolonged and carrying high-frequencies oral communications of ancestral hominids being, mainly, the unintentional mechanism resulting in the development of human higher cognition. Please, watch the presentation for the details on this. • Our enlarged cranium and brain as the outcome of an extreme photo-trauma suffered by the de-pigmented earlier form of our species, which was living away from light for 2.6 million years inside the said permanent warm coastal fog. Some of the unique to Humans anatomical features used in this presentation as supporting evidence are: 1)The thick film of sebum on our hands and feet which makes them uniquely adherent to rocks that are always wet with warm water due to being located within a permanent warm fog. Our hands and feet are adjusted to climb a rock face which existed inside stable environmental conditions (lasting millions of years) that kept it wet with warm water day and night, and all year round. 2)The lack of fur which indicates as a species’ natural environment a place both always away from light and permanently warm. 3)The humans’ high degree of cutaneous water permeability which indicates life in a dark, warm, and humid environment (the same anatomy is to be found only on Troglofauna, species typically living in temperate caves where the humidity is ranging from 95 to 100 percent). 4)The low density of Human Osteocytes (Human osteocytes per mm3 of mature bone: around 700 per mm3, Bovine bone: 31,900 per mm3, Rat bone: 93,200 per mm3) demonstrating the mentioned Severe Photo-Trauma. The same Severe Photo-Trauma is postulated as the producer of our enlarged skull and our expanded brain where it also functioned as connectivity enhancer (watch the presentation for the details on this).
