The Predator Postmortem - How NOT to revive a franchise

September 14th saw the release of writer and director Shane Black’s “The Predator”, a movie which was intended to restart The Predator franchise, and to spawn two direct sequels. None of that will be happening, as the movie tanked. How could “The Predator”, a sequel to one of the greatest actionmovies of the eighties, have come to this? In this postmortem, @AndreEinherjar will uncover just that by first exploring why the original is such a beloved classic, and then use that as the baseline for comparison with the new movie.
