Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello, who was at first teased by Ben Affleck himself with a short video of the actor in full costume, is still attached to star. Nearly 20 months after Geostorm was scheduled for release, the movie debuted this past weekend in theatres to less than stellar reviews and box office receipts. Now in a report from the Wrap, the $120 million budgeted movie, which also included nearly $15 million in extensive reshoots, bombed by only taking in $14.7 million domestic. Because of its soft opening, coupled with the production budget, box office analysts predict the movie will lose as much as $100 million by the time the dust settles. OPENING THIS WEEK Deadline reports that Adam Driver has signed on to appear in producer Jordan Peele and director Spike Lee’s Black Klansman. Driver will play the role of ‘Flip’, a Jewish undercover officer from the Colorado Springs police force; in a story about Ron Stallworth, a detective who dared to challenge the Ku Klux Klan and thwart its attempts to take over the city. Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming original film Bright. Scripted by Max Landis and directed by David Ayer, the action-thriller takes place in an alternate present day in which humans live alongside magical creatures like elves and orcs. Joel Edgerton plays the first orc to join the LAPD, paired with a human partner played by Will Smith.
