Casting on The Wolverine is moving forward fast and we've got info on all the latest additions! Production on the sequel to 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set to begin next month in Austrailia before heading to Japan and casting has heated up on the superhero sequel. Actor Will Yun Lee from Die Another Day and will be seen in next month's Total Recall reboot has been cast as the lead villain in the film, Harada also known as the Silver Samurai, a mutant with the power to generate a tachyon energy field that he uses to give his sword the ability to cut through any substance, except adamantium that is. This is not the first Marvel character Lee has played. The actor played ninja Kirigi in 2005's Elektra, but we'll give him a pass on that one. In addition to Lee, Grimm actor Brian Tee has been cast as Noburo Mori, a corrupt government official who is engaged to Mariko, played by Tao Okamoto, the daughter of a Yakuza crimelord and love interest to Logan. Other cast include Hiroyuki Sanada who will play Shingen, a Yakuza crime boss. Hal Yamanouchi, will play Yashida, the head of the crime family. And Rila Fukushima will play Yukio, a deadly assassin . Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his role of Wolverine in the sequel that is set to hit theaters on July 26th next year. The film is reported to follow the story arc from the comic book written by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller which finds Wolverine as an outsider in Japan where a battle with a mysterious figure from his past leaves him forever changed. So what do you think of the casting for The Wolverine so far? Do you think it will make up for the disappointment the first film brought many Wolverine fans?
