Its inhabitants spent their days sailing out to sea to fish and discover new islands. All of this changed when a Demigod named Maui stole Goddess Te Fiti’s heart for selfish reasons. Soon after, all life on Earth began to slowly decay. Te Fiti’s sorrow became so humongous that the ocean’s tides began to take a turn for the worst - ruining everything in their path. Since returning Te Fiti’s heart was not an easy task to accomplish, the ocean elected Princess Moana for the job. This proved to be problematic since she had never sailed out to sea before. Instead of bringing her faithful sidekick Pua with her on the journey, Moana chose to leave him behind.
