This Non-Religious Life Episode 13: The Patriotic Family Association for Puppy and Kitten Fun Time

http://Radio.Zombie-Popcorn.com http://Zombie-Popcorn.com Beware the TPFAPKFT, they may promise a future where every American gets a puppy and kitten just for voting for them, but they are also linked to the Esotheric Order of the Old Ones who want to open terrifying vistas of reality and sacrifice everyone to Cthulhu. This is the subject of today's episode, no not Cthulhu and Lovecraft, but the absurdly sugary sweet names some viciously hateful religious groups take. Long gone are the days where scary groups had equally scary names. Today, in place of the Ku Klux Klan—who are also a Christian group—we have organizations that present themselves as loving, caring family centered organizations. We have discussed the American Family Association on the show quite a bit, but what brought this subject up was the owner of TOM's Shoes teaming up with Focus on the Family, a similarly vitriolic anti-gay group. While the owner of TOM's has recanted it proves a great point, apparently he was duped by their name. But it isn't just these two groups, there are Concerned Women for America and the Faith and Freedom Coalition. Without prior knowledge of who these groups are there is no way of knowing that they are religiously driven anti-gay groups. How about the American Center for Law and Justice? Or how about the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform? The list could go on and on, as we see it seems the more sugary and non-threatening the name, the more vitriolic the group.
