Three die as cruise ship runs aground off Italy

http://www.euronews.net/ At least three people have been killed and others may still be missing after a luxury Mediterranean cruise turned to catastrophe off the coast of Italy. The giant Costa Concordia liner, carrying more than 4,000 passengers and crew, got into difficulties after apparently hitting a rock or a sandbar. It took on water, with reports of a large gash on its side, and started tipping over near the island of Giglio, while passengers were eating dinner. As a rescue operation began, some on board jumped into the water to try to swim ashore.
