The 1964 R.O.C(Taiwan) National Day parade was struck by tragedy when a low flying airforce F-104 Starfighter fighter aircraft struck a Broadcasting Corporation of China tower, causing the plane's fuel tank to fall and kill three people including a woman and her baby in front of the Central Weather Bureau building in downtown Taipei.The other two remaining F-104 aircraft were ordered to look for the crashed aircraft and accidentally collided and crashed in Tucheng City, Taipei County (now New Taipei City) killing both pilots. Despite poor weather, the fly-by wasn't cancelled, and the aircraft flew lower than rehearsed.4212 hit an antenna tower and damaged its left drop tank and left wing. Half of the drop tank and parts of the wing fell off, and hit a weather bureau building.Three civilians killed, including a weather bureau employee.While its wingmen checked the damage on 4212, 4205 and 4216 collided and crashed near Tai Bei (Tai Pei). One crashed in Ban Qiao, another crashed in Tu Cheng. 跳傘！跳傘！ 張甲坐在F-104的狹小座艙中，隔著黑色的遮陽護目鏡，緊盯著飛在左前方的分隊長林鶴聲，跟著他的每一個動作，兩架飛機像是被一根無形的鍊子索住似的在空中穿梭著。他們正以三百多浬的空速低飛在中央山脈的山谷中，張甲從來沒有在這麼低的高度飛過，尤其是在山谷裡。他不知道當時到底飛的有多低，但由眼角的餘光裡他知道已經低的不能再低，因為當時已經看不見藍天了，似乎看的到的地方全都是綠色的山野。他正訥悶為甚麼長機今天飛的這麼低的時候，耳機中傳來了林鶴聲一聲淒厲的喊聲：「拉！」張甲當時只覺得正前方彷彿就是一座高山，沒有問，也沒時間問，他使勁的將駕駛桿拉回，煞那間巨大的G力將他壓在座椅上，雙眼因為飛機的急速爬高而暫時的喪失了視力，握緊駕駛桿的手也在G力的影響下而導至酸麻．但他卻斯毫不敢放鬆拉桿的力量。幾秒鐘有一個世紀那麼長久，等他雙眼恢復視覺後，他發現自己已逃過一劫，飛機已鑽升到一萬餘呎的高空，但放眼下望卻見不到林鶴聲的飛機，他緊張的按下通話鈕：「分座！你在那裡？」回答他的只有無線電中熟悉的靜電聲音．．。意識到長機可能已經撞山失事的悲痛感覺，卻將張甲由夢中驚醒，原來那只是一場惡夢，他看了看錶，當時是民國五十三年十月十日清晨四點多，幾個鐘頭之後他將駕機參加國慶閱兵空中分列式，林鶴聲是他的長機。....(文摘自 飛行員的故事 - 第一輯‎ 全文詳 http://www.100pilots.com/fei-xing-yuan-de-gu-shi---di-yi-ji/eject--eject )
