Time switch : A self-winding question about Horstmann "Vmk" range timeswitches

Peoples....One of my subscribers has asked: " Do these Horstmann [ Vmk ] timeswitches self-wind, to maintain their spring reserve, and also to self-rewind should the spring reserve have become exhausted after a prolonged power-cut, given the fact that these timeswitches are usually in a tamper-resistant casing, thus inaccessible to the electricity consumer without causing a criminal offence of opening the case to manually rewind the spring reserve?" VERY GOOD QUESTION !! This will be investigated. For as long as I have owned Horstmann Vmk timeswitches, one thing that I have never done, because it's never crossed my mind to give it a go, is to energise one of these Vmk timeswitches with an unwound spring reserve, in order to find out whether it will self-rewind, and whether a couple of weeks later, I will find the time switch in an energised, fully-wound state. So then! Over the next few weeks, I will take a Horstmann V Amk 9 SRS, as I already have one of these wired, ready-to-go, and just energise it on the mains with an unwound spring reserve, to see what the outcome is, and to confirm whether-or-not these time switches self-rewind.
