Toilet / Potty Training Your Child out of Nappies - How To Video

Anyone who is a parent knows about the potty training struggle & in addition, Nappies are costly & time consuming … so what can you do to encourage your child to use the potty? Some strategies that we use at Kidikingdom include: Before they need to go to the toilet, Introduce them to “the Potty”… Encourage children to sit on the potty with their clothes on, so they can see it isn’t going to ‘bite them’ or ‘suck them in’ and swallow them whole. Explain how they can use the potty instead of their Nappy.When they are ‘brave enough’ to use the potty for ‘real’ … offer encouragement and praise. Children may want nothing to do with the potty training but and continue asking them anyway… encouraging them until they become comfortable in using the potty. Take your child to the toilet regularly, to avoid accidents&it will also train your child to become more aware of their bodily functions. Once trained, Put your child straight into underwear, avoiding pending money on ‘pull ups’ which act similar to a nappy…. The advantage of this is, A child can feel when they are wet in underwear, as they can Not, in a nappy. All children are different, and what works for some may not work for others. They need to be taught the basics and encouraged to use the potty, but in the end they will go when they are ready, not when you are.
