In our patriarchal society where young men are pressured to be ‘manly’, conditioned to believe that their masculinity lies only in their physical strength/ appearance. And are taught to be emotionally hardened or indifferent, It is important to engage in open conversations that reassure our young men who don’t conform to the ‘normative role’; it’s okay to be yourself, to be emotional. As well as continue to provide and embrace alternative representations of what it means to be a man.
