Canadian home prices are expected to see a healthy appreciation by the end of 2020 but it really will be an interesting year as there is talk that the federal government may possibly change the Mortgage stress test mechanism. The stress test has temporarily pushed Buyers out of the market & even though some Buyers have adjusted for the most part, it still represents a significant hurdle. Be aware that if they do change this, expect prices to go up significantly as more Buyers will qualify for higher borrowing amounts pushing sale prices even higher!
