We have officially started training with the Rocky Mountain chapter of Team in Training for America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride this June. Team in Training is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
We will be training for 19 weeks for a 100 mile bike ride around Lake Tahoe. At the same time, we will be fundraising to support the fight against cancer. Our goal is to raise $3,000 in this short time.
In this first video, we talk about the anxious feelings we have about starting the season -- for the cycling training as well as the fundraising. Liv rides a recumbent trike with a Bionx electric assist because she is an amputee. We talk about the challenges of riding with physical pain and difficulties in getting the recumbent trike to Lake Tahoe.
We also get to meet some of the other cyclists on the team and then go out for a quick ride to Chatfield Reservoir near Denver. After the ride, we share lunch with the team. We here about the successes LLS has had with treatments. We also learn that one of our coaches will be missing some time because she is donating bone marrow to a patient sometime this week.
Subscribe to our channel and follow along as we prepare for our ride around Lake Tahoe and see if we meet our fundraising goal!
