The objective of this customer case study is to simulate the becking of a 16MND5 shell that is used for a steam generator. The becking process consists in enlarging the diameter of the ring. This is achieved here with a total number of 267 blows.
For the same fine mesh (640000 elements), same hardware and number of cores (12), the computation time is reduced from 12 days to 4 days, thus allowing a speed-up of 3, while ensuring the same accuracy.
