TRIBUTE TO JACK SHAFER

In honor of April being National Poetry Month, here's a poem (2004's "The Keepers of the Craft") from the late performance poet Jack Shafer, beloved by all those who knew him--especially in the Los Angeles and Southern California literary communities. Jack and Pete Justus co-founded The Rapp Saloon reading in Santa Monica, CA; the reading will celebrate its 10th anniversary this fall.
