"100% PURE ADRENALINE!" - An earlier work both from director Kathryn Bigelow (NEAR DARK, STRANGE DAYS, THE HURT LOCKER) and horn/jazz maestro turned composer Mark Isham, it's combo "electronic, rock/funk, orchestral soundscape" marked a turning point in Isham's filmic career. Having blended traditional orchestra with (then new) avant garde electronics, within a year he'd claim his first Oscar nomination for Robert Redford's A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, then go on to score films as diverse as QUIZ SHOW, NELL, COOL WORLD, CRASH, THE MIST, INVINCIBLE, THE MECHANIC, THE CRAZIES, THE CONSPIRATOR, WARRIOR, DOLPHIN TALE and many others. To this day however, POINT BREAK remains one of his most ear-arrestingly intriguing musical works.
