UIMA Ukrainian Genocide/Holodomor Commemoration Yuri Laniuk / conductor, Dr. Volodymyr Syvokhip

CONCERT/COMMEMORATION: '80th Anniversary of Ukrainian Genocide/Holodomor Concert & Commemoration' UIMA presents a classical concert commemorating the 1932-1933 Holodomor with compositions by renowned Ukrainian composer, cellist, and professor of music at the Lviv National Music Academy Yuri Laniuk. At the podium, guest conductor, Dr. Volodymyr Syvokhip, currently director of the Lviv Philharmonic Society, and professor of music at the Lviv Music Academy. Mr. Yuri Laniuk's composition Anticipation; a sonata for cello, piano and choir will feature cellist Nazar Dzhuryn, a graduate of the Lviv School of Music and the Moscow State Conservatory. Nazar Dzhuryn currently serves on the faculties of Northeastern Illinois University, Elgin Community College and the Naperville School for the Performing Arts.
