Ukraine: Lugansk orphanage for ill children fears bombardment

C/U Rose and Lugansk regional kids' care house exterior SCRIPT: Facility managers and members of the Lugansk People's Republic called for an orphanage on the outskirts of Lugansk to be evacuated on Sunday due to fears of artillery bombardment in the area. The Lugansk Regional Kids' Care Home, which cares for dozens of children who require specialist medical care, has found itself to be on the front line of fighting between local self-defence militias and government troops. The orphanage houses some 86 children under the age of three years and 67 medical staff, but is not equipped with a bomb shelter. Due to the severity of some of the childrens' medical conditions and their young age, orphanage employees have found it difficult to evacuate the building, with many children in need of specialist equipment.
