Originally published on July 18, 2013 The MobiUS scanner connects over USB and plugs into smartphones and tablets. The device creates image of up to 480-by-480 pixels of body parts by using high frequency sound waves. Considerably more affordable than bulkier, full-sized machines the device's inventor believes it can help streamline the healthcare system in developing countries where ultrasound is not readily available.
