The result was a 55-28 homecoming spanking of the winless Bears, who couldn't solve the No. 19 Griz on either side of the ball. The hosts piled up five sacks and allowed just 21 rushing yards. Northern Colorado had one early, impressive scoring drive but only one other possession go as far as 36 yards. Yet UM's offense, with Johnson held out of action, gave the crowd of 25,919 the most reason to cheer.
