US Army finances 'robotic snakes'

At Carnegie Mellon University, the biorobotics team is developing a robotic snake that is planned to assist in search and rescue missions. The project, which is partially funded by the US Army, has researchers attaching a camera and a microphone to an electronic serpent that is able to communicate with victims trapped under rubble.
