A short video showing a few different uses for mini poppers as stim toys, including a replacement stim for dermatillomania. Available at https://www.stimtastic.co/stim-toys/mini-poppers-set-of-5
video transcription: "Mini Poppers" the text says, next to a photo of five domes. Three are flipped upside down. The top of the inside of each dome is flat, and there is a lip on the bottom of them. Happy music plays.
On a black surface lay two mini poppers - one pink and one purple. Two light-colored hands hover over the table.
"These are our mini poppers," says Cynthia Kim, from stimtastic.co, "and these are party favours that you get, like, at a kid's birthday party." They pick up the purple popper between two fingers. The popper is smaller than their fingertip.
They set the purple one down and pick up the pink one. "And what you usually do with them, is turn it inside out and set it down," they follow their own instructions, setting the dome down, round part of the dome against the table, "and let it pop." As soon as they let go of the popper, it pops up a bit and to the side as it flips right side out. It makes a loud pop.
They flip the popper inside out again and pinch the sides together until it's resting on the table, then they release it. It makes a pop as it rights itself, jumping upwards and rolling to the side. "Like that," they say.
Jump cut to a close up of Cynthia's hands holding the pink popper. They flip it inside out and set it right next to the pink popper. It pops very loudly as it jumps just a couple centimetres off the table and spins around on the top of its dome.
Jump cut to a zoomed out frame. Cynthia settles the pink popper next to the purple popper as they say "Uh, but what I found that I really like to do with them, is press it on the table," They press their thumb into the top of the purple popper, "to form a seal, then pick it up," The popper's dome remains indented when they take their thumb away. Then they use their finger to scrape the popper off the table. It pops as the dome snaps back up.
"Like that." They repeat the process. "So, any flat, smooth surface will create a seal." Cynthia pops the dome back off the table and continues, "and then you can just pop it off that way."
Jump cut to a zoomed in shot of the purple popper being pressed into the table by a thumb. Inquisitive music plays. They remove their thumb and pick the popper up off the table with a loud snap. They repeat the process twice more.
The camera view abruptly switches back to the zoomed out shot and they press the pink dome into the table and pull it up before doing the same to the purple one. They do it once more to the pink one before the screen fades to white and an orchestra plays a finale note. The stimtastic logo and link appear (stimtastic.co) as soloists play a final melody. End video.
