Oggu Dolu Dance at Avatharana Filmotsavam in Hyderabad - Telangana Folk Songs | YOYO TV Channel Avatharana Filmotsavam - A short film Competitive Festival conducted by Department of Language and Culture, Govt of Telangana. Telangana, the youngest state in Indian union, is having glorious history, grandeur culture, great heritage and vibrant lifestyle. It is being praised as the connecting link between South and North India, which made it as an unique region with different seasons. Telangana is enriched with folk traditions, tribal arts, classical crafts, Deccani heritage and modern Technologies like cinema & IT. The glory of this land had made this as “cultures own galaxy”. Now a days, the young and amateur film makers are producing short films on different themes to satisfy their own creative urges. The Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana had rightly identified this new trend in film making and devised an action plan to promote, encourage and support the new, young and amateur film makers by screening their creative works on one hand and to recognize the quality of the films by organizing certain competitions, on the other. The Department of Culture had organized film festivals earlier at the time of State Formation Celebrations (falling in the month of June) and in Bathukamma times (falling in the month of September/October), which are non competitive in nature. These festivals gave great impacts in building confidence on the creative talents of the Debutante film makers. Then, we have organized one “Yuva Chitrotsavam” (Youth Film Fest) in December, 2017 as a part of “World Telugu Conference, 2017” and got great response from the new film makers and audience. Taking this into consideration, the Department is now organizing “Avatharana Filmotsavam” in competitive mode to encourage film making culture and to create healthy competition among the rising and upcoming film makers. Further, the ultimate aim of Department of Language and Culture to take such initiatives is to encourage and support a “meaningful cinema” and to create awareness among the public to appreciate the “art of cinema”. This film Festival, we believe, will surely full fill an important step in realising the long cherished wish of the people to make “Brand Telangana Cinema”! Of Language and Culture, Govt of Telangana. Rules & Terms ELIGIBILITY: *Your film should have one of the below themes 1. Telangana Language 2. Telangana Culture 3. A place in Telangana *Your Film should not disgrace any Caste/Creed/Color/Culture/Person/Religion/Language/Place/Country *Films must have been completed after June 2, 2017. *Short films Must have less than 20 Minutes Duration *Short Films can be shot any where in the World *Short films shot with other than Telugu/Telangana language must have English Subtitles *Films that have been submitted in previous years are NOT eligible to be re submission *The submitting filmmaker must be either the producer or director of the film. Maximum 2 Entries for a Director/Banner. More than 2 entries not allowed. *Entries must be sent before/on May 25th 2018 *Selection list will be anounced on May 31st, 2018 *Winners will be announced on June 5th, 2018. The Jury decision is final. *Selected films will be screened at Paidi jairaj Preview Theatre from June 2nd to June 5th 2018 *Awards Function will be held at renowned Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad on June 5th, 2018 6 PM onwards.
