Dedicated to my dear friend, confidant and life mentor David Ades. This is a moving painting. It was filmed on a planet faraway. I wrote this song in the wee small hours of the morning, in the witching hour. It drifted into my head, rolled around and gently persisted until i paid it it's due attention. It was truly one of those moments when a song already exists, it just needs a vessel to allow it to come through. That is exactly what it felt like. I never entirely understood it's meaning and i still have different interpretations. It wrote itself. Only it knows what it means. The music was recorded on earth, in Byron Bay at Panoramix Studios. This was the live take that happened in the studio that day with my friends. This track, like so many live moments playing together over the years represents a time and an energy that took place and swept us outside of ourselves. We were together. This was one of the last times Mitch ever got to play with Dave. It is a gift that we were all able to spend time on that day and so many others, in this magical place between life and art and sound and transformation. Together. All of us. I treasure it deeply. Weaving and dancing through the air making music with open hearts and willing souls, willing to go there, searching for somewhere new, searching for higher, for more. David Ades always played like this. There was never a moment in the history of my musical journey with him that he didn't spiritually transcend. His instrument was his vehicle and he would travel to the outer reaches every time he played. There is no one on earth like him. He has been my greatest teacher. I dedicate this visual and musical painting to him, to his memory, his guts, his ferocious unrelenting dedication to his art and to the search. The search for more. I love you Dave.
