Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services - 2nd Alarm Wildfire response to Stanley Park

**Please Read Description** October 19th/20th 2017 - Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services were called to reports of a tree on fire in Stanley Park. Engine 6 arrived on scene with no signs of tree fire, and went into to investigate. Engine 6 and Quint 6 circled the park and found the tree fire near Beaver Creek. Engine 6 established command and requested a full 1st alarm assignment along with a Wildlands Unit. Crews had a tough time getting access to the fire due to bushes and trees. Battalion 1 arrived shortly after and took over Command. Battalion 1 requested a 2nd Alarm assignment to bring in extra firefighters and equipment to the scene to assist. Crews manage to get water on fire to prevent from spreading to any nearby trees and forestry. Crews responded earlier for the same tree fire, and it re-kindled at night, bringing in this major response. Great job well done by Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services, for their hard work, trying to put this blaze out.
