August means Silliman University. We will be covering episodes around this school for the whole month. A post online had me worried since my beloved food kiosks back in college are at a risk of being sent out of the university premises. I was so curious why the university would allow this when these places along with the lovely mothers and their staff really help students and school faculty especially those who have a meager allowance. Students can actually afford P20 to P40 worth of meals here. It may not be a big deal to some but it really is if you don't come from a well-to-do family. Combo Refreshments, formerly known as Jaloly's, was owned by Manang Lydia who has a son named Jason with her American husband Louis. When Manang Lydia died in 2013 due to complications of cancer, one of her staff took over and her son was forced to leave school since they can't afford it anymore. Jason has special needs and now lives with his dad. Bossing, the owner of the tempura place, is fairly ready to accept the possibility of them being sent out. He feels kind of sad but is not worried since he has several other branches and franchisers. This is his first ever branch and it most definitely has a huge place in his heart. This branch launched his name and empire. New episode every Saturday at 12 NOON (Philippine time).
