This video gives a brief tutorial on how to fit the adjustable Vista cervical collar on outlier patients- most notably the no-neck patient and the thin-neck patient.
NO-NECK: The important thing to remember is to capture the chin first and then rotate the collar down to the chest. The Vista may sit lower on the chest than what you are used to, but this is an intended feature of the collar.
SMALL-NECK PATIENTS: The most important thing to remember for a patient with a slender neck is to pre-form the collar prior to fitting. This is a good step to remember for all patients, but it is especially pertinent for anyone with a thin neck. Form the anterior portion of the Vista by bending the collar back at the tabs, creating a bracing cylinder.
