This little Mini-PC has potential. At $215 it’s very reasonably priced considering it has the “high end of the low end” Atom Cherry Trail X7-Z8700 processor. This makes it a little faster than my current favorite, the Kangaroo Mini-PC. But it may not be noticeable for most applications.
The device is well constructed, made of glass and aluminum. It doesn’t get all that hot while in operation and it really feels more in line with a mid-range PC for basic tasks than a $200 mini-PC.
But it’s not perfect.
Games seem to lock up at random times likely due to some display driver issues. The wireless is weak and does not support 5ghz networks as indicated in the marketing. It does not support wireless AC. And while they provide a licensed version of Windows 10, the installed version has a pre-built user account with all UAC controls disabled. Very dangerous.
It also was not passing through digital audio in Kodi properly, which is a shame given its performance and silent operation.
I will give this a recommendation of “buy at your own risk.” Given this company doesn’t really have much of a presence outside of China it will be difficult to get support.
