War and Peace - Soundtrack - La Marche D'Henri IV

Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov's soundtrack to Sergey Bondarchuk's monumental adaptation of the Tolstoy novel "War and Peace". French stragglers in the custody of the Russian army lead the camp in a song (a song honouring the first Bourbon King, interestingly). A brotherhood is rediscovered in the harsh winter night that supersedes the political climate. The scene of a crowd forming around a great bonfire transitions to Kutuzov's victory speech and the humiliation of the captured eagle-banners. Dialogue at 1:36 : Russian 1: "They're people too. Even the weeds have their roots." Russian 2: "My God! I've never seen so many stars..." Russian 3: "That means a good harvest this year." Dialogue at 2:25 : Kutuzov: "Bow it, make it bow its head. Lower, lower! There we are. Hoorah, my friends!" Assembled soldiers: "URAAAA!!!"
