Heavy Metal Hero, Survivor on single cap White Rock Fortress. Regulars already know what's going to happen when I'm driving one of these T-34s: rush to the cap zone, especially if it's a single cap map. Still, while the T-34 1942 is a very speedy vehicle, you will notice how I get slowed down considerably on some 'muddy' ground sections. But I still manage to get to the zone way before anyone else, be it friend or foe. Some enemies are getting in position to attack shortly after I finished capping, though. Fended off that assault all by myself but I have to admit that my position was more advantageous.
As with a lot of the Soviet tanks, the gun lacks penetration power but if you score a hit, the post pen damage is pretty devastating. This match is a very good example of this. There are only a couple of tanks I would have problems penning from the front and most of these engagements play out in a way where I'm getting good angles on them, mostly from the side where even a Churchill doesn't stand a chance versus the not particularly powerful 76mm F-34 cannon. Around the mid match mark my team was pretty oblivious to a lone Sherman that was going to take the zone from us so it was on me to stop him from doing that. I used this encounter for this videos' gallery pic.
Didn't want to camp for the rest of the game, though, so I decided to move out on the northern side where we had next to no forces present. Some nice interdiction of unsuspecting enemy reinforcements going on but then I ran into a Cromwell V that gave me a little trouble. Not too much, though. He took out my gunner for a short while but I chose to just wait it out in the rather large crater and he made the error or trying to rush my position. I had a really good angle that way and my replacement gunner was ready for action right on time. Some additional intercepts in the next 2 minutes or so. Our team got pushed back quite harshly at this point and the enemy took the point but our lead was so massive at this point that I didn't really bothered to move back to the cap. A couple of kills was all we needed to secure victory. While I tried to get the camera in position for a good end of game portrait some enemy managed to get the best hit of the game on me but it wasn't worth anything at that point. While looking at the final score table it seemed like I carried the game mostly by myself. Luckily I didn't run into any serious gun depression issues while exploiting the nice mobility of this medium tank.
