Today on West-Central Report, we're at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) to mark World Prematurity Day, held yearly on November 17.
The event hosted by the JGH Auxiliary and Tiny Miracle Fund is a special moment for parents, past premature babies, volunteers and caregivers to come together and celebrate what we call our Tiny Miracles - our NICU preemies. It is also an opportunity for former preemie parents to offer testimonies about their stay in the NICU all while giving courage to the ones that are there daily, with their little ones. This also marked the first year anniversary of the JGH Book Reading Program for premature babies., where volunteers read to babies while they are in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the JGH.
