WESTERN GP28M 229 RETURNS

After 6 month of rebuilding former WESTERN GP28M 229 is back home on the ER&W. The unit had a complete rebuild new traction motors, new power assembles, new batteries, wiring and awhile list of other parts to bring this one of a kind unit back on the road. The unit is leading extra 229 with two other units. BNSF SD70ACE 9370 and Portland & Northern SD45T-2 7492. All the units look sharp as they pull the long string of hopper cars east. We later catch the train as it exists Tunnel Junction. While we were waiting for extra 229 to pass test extra 0066 with China built SS7C 0066 passes our location and meets extra 229 just off camera. It sure was awesome to see the former GP20 back on home rails again.
