In 2004 I began developing algorithms to analyze brain function for the purpose of understanding cognition and the strategies we employ in every day life. In 2009 I decided that I could provide the contribution of creating ways to detect age-related changes in brain function and to develop brain dysfunction 'markers' contained in EEG data. My specialty is in the analysis of EEG data and creating algorithms to remove noise from the data and identify useful features in the data that help us understand brain function. Studying brain function at high altitude helps me develop algorithms and methods for detecting age-related changes in brain function by providing me with data where I know there are functional changes in brain activity.
