Launching Virgin Records in 1972, he signed the Sex Pistols and Culture Club, two huge acts in the seventies and eighties. But he wasnʼt willing to stop there, extending the Virgin name into CD and DVD retail, mobile and Internet service, trains, planes – even space tourism!
