First released in 1980, Pac-Man features a very simple 2D interface where you control a giant yellow head that gobbles up little points of light called Pac-Dots while avoiding ghosts (named Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde) that kill you on contact. You can consume power pellets that give your Pac-Man temporary powers over the ghosts allowing him to eat them as well. Consuming a ghost sends it back to its starting point (generally in the middle of the map) allowing you a few extra seconds of freedom to gobble up more Pac-Dots before they reach you again.
