Xubuntu 14.04 LTS vs Windows XP on Athlon XP 1700+ / 1Gb RAM - Mozilla Firefox 42.0 benchmark

A response to vwestlife's "Windows XP vs Lubuntu" video. Configuration: AMD Athlon 1700+, 1Gb of RAM, 160Gb IDE HDD, GT 7600 512M Xubuntu 14.04 LTS, fresh install. Nouveau drivers replaced by Nvidia 304.xx tested drivers. Windows XP, not fresh but still works somehow. Nvidia 307.83 driver. What I did: 1) Booted to Xubuntu 2) Ran Firefox 42.0 three times loading www.bbc.com 3) Rebooted to Windows XP 4) Ran Firefox 42.0 three times loading www.bbc.com (sorry for bad quality of the video) Results: Xubuntu boot = 63 sec FF first attempt = 31 sec FF second attempt = 21 sec FF third attempt = 21 sec XP boot = 33 sec FF first attempt = 33 sec FF second attempt = 15 sec FF third attempt = 17 sec
