Transcript-
Hello YouTube!I wanna to do a quick video on programming a repeater into the Yaesu FT-1D. I just picked up this radio last week, and I am very impressed with it. It is packed full of features. It even has great sounding audio on the digital side, dual receive, the works.
First thing you wanna do is make sure you power it up, then go to VFO mode. The repeater I am gonna be using is a local one in Newport Beach, and its frequency is 145.160. This will automatically put in the offset which in this case is negative (-). Once you have that you're gonna want to enter in your PL tone. To get there go to the "Set/DISP" button hold it for about a second. Go to menu number 4 which is "Signaling" press enter. The you're gonna want to go to the Tone Squelch Frequency menu, which is menu number 12. Again hit enter. And then your gonna pick which ever one you want just by turning the knob. In this case we want 156.7. Once you have that hit the set button three times quickly. To take you back to the VFO mode. Now, to input this into memory you're gonna push and hold the Function button for about a second. It's gonna flash. If it full you'll see the lines across the page. If it's empty it blinks and it's a clear paper. I wanna put this one in 18, correction 19, and then you hit the Function button again and your all set. Go over to memory and there you are. Now, to put an alpha tag on this you're gonna go back into the SET/DISP hold it for about a second, go to menu item 3, hit enter, an then go to menu item 3 again which is "Memory Name," hit enter. Then you can use the keys to pick which letter you want, or you can go by turning up or down on the knob. In this case I want Newport. You go through it, past the numbers then you'll get the capitals. And then once you've got it just hit Display, take you back, or if you hit the PushTo Talk button it'll take you right back. To make sure that you've got your alpha tag in there, push and hold the mono/dual A/B button, and there you are!
