ZPD Zone of Proximal Development

ZPD is the difference between what a learner can do with help and what a learner can do without help. Lev Vygotsky's work in understanding how a learner achieves permits us to dig deeper into how we approach instruction or teaching and how we can be more aware of how children are able to learn and develop if we can assist them at a level that is challenging enough but not so much that they become frustrated.
