Dozens of mourners gathered in Kunduz as funeral services were held on Saturday for over fifty victims of a deadly mosque bombing.

The attack was conducted during Friday prayers held by the Shia Muslim community at the Said Abad mosque, claiming over fifty lives and causing injury to over a hundred people.

According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, the incident was the ‘third deadly attack this week apparently targeting a religious institution’ in the country.

The Islamic State affiliate ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack, according to the group’s media wing, Amaq.
