‘Baby Minke Whale RESCUED From River Thames in London’

Rescue crews in London have moved a baby whale to safety after it became stranded.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institute assisted the rescue of the baby Minke whale in the River Thames.

Crews worked late into the evening as they tried to free the whale, which had been stuck for hours.

A vet will now assess whether it is strong enough to be released back to sea.

Minke whales can usually be found throughout the northern Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, but their range extends from the ice edge in the Arctic during the summer to near the equator during winter.
