Poland has granted a humanitarian visa to a Belarusian athlete who voiced fears for her safety at the Olympics.

After refusing to board a flight home, Krystsina Tsimanouskaya is sheltering at the Polish Embassy in Tokyo.

The sprinter said members of her team tried to take her out of the country against her will after a disagreement.

She had posted criticism of the coaches on social media when she was entered into a race at the last minute.
