China’s most powerful solid rocket motor tested

China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) tested a 3.5 metre diameter solid rocket engine on 19 October 2021. Having a 500-ton thrust, this is China’s most powerful solid rocket motor tested so far. CASC engineers are currently working on a segmented engine, expected to reach maximum thrust of more than 1000 tons.
