DEADLY Thunderstorm Rips Through Canada

A deadly thunderstorm has left a trail of destruction across Canada’s two most populous states.

At least eight people are dead, and half a million are without power after the storm, which packed the power of a tornado, tore through Ontario and Quebec.

Winds as strong as 82mph felled trees, uprooted pylons and toppled transmission towers, leaving residents trapped and alone.

Experts say the storm, which spanned across an area of around 621 miles, was caused by a rare phenomenon called “derecho”.
