Donald Trump Tells Supporters to ‘Go Home’ As Chaos at US Capitol Continues:

President Donald Trump urged supporters to ‘go home’ in a statement posted to social media, after his supporters stormed the US Capitol earlier today. But he continued to push the baseless theory that he won the US presidential election by a ‘landslide’.

President-elect Joe Biden also condemned the violent actions of right-wing ‘extremists’, saying their actions ‘bordered on sedition’.

Rioters smashed windows and clashed with police, with one person reportedly shot and wounded on the Capitol grounds. Lawmakers were taken to an undisclosed location for their own safety, with many asked to wear gas masks.
