Dozens arrested at pro and anti-trans rights protests in LA

Altercations broke out between an anti-transgender protest and a rally in support of trans rights outside a spa for the second weekend in a row.

Dozens were arrested, as protesters were exchanging projectiles.

The protests were sparked by a spa customer, who posted a video of herself online, complaining to staff and claiming that a trans woman had exposed her genitalia in the women’s facilities.

California legislation has been enabling trans people to use facilities matching their gender for years.

The spa is known to accept members of the trans community and acted in accordance with the law. 

However police told local media they have been unable to find evidence a trans customer was actually present on the day of the complaint.
